Last year we introduced a scheme to encourage non-sailing members or those with little experience, to have a go on volunteering members boats. It’s called Try Sailing, and following it’s popularity, we are continuing the scheme this year. In fact we are extending it to include the chance to have a go on a power boat.

For the rest of our cruisers we have an exciting cruising calendar with something for everyone – short weekend breaks and long spring/summer holidays, travelling across the channel and down to the west country, familiar destinations and new ports.

The emphasis is on enjoyment rather than challenging destinations, enabling as many boats as possible to feel comfortable about each voyage. We particularly welcome any new boats that have not cruised with us before and invite them to join in with the familiar faces.

Skippers’ meetings will be held to provide as much information as possible to help us cruise together, and we will also be holding crew-meet-skippers’ events for members looking for crew places and skippers looking for extra hands on deck.

We want to deliver a programme that pleases as many members as possible and we welcome your ideas and suggestions. Please look at the cruising noticeboard in the clubhouse, or contact the Rear Commodore Cruising.

Further information is also available on cruising preparation.
